On our way to Salem, we crossed the centuries-old Sugavaneswarar Temple on the Thirumanimuthar River. We met the minister today to discuss how we can unlock the limitless potential of women in the mobility sector.
The countryside of Narayanpeth lured us in with its ample fields and warm houses! The healthy breakfast kept us sustained through the ride. When we reached our destination, excitement was plenty, and the smiles even more. It was nourishing to see women finding the courage (and technique) to pick up the fallen bike with such confidence. Made my morning.
The campaign was brought to you by the POWERED programme in collaboration with MOWO in an effort to increase awareness about the role of women in sustainable mobility and institutionalize the concept of female drivers. POWERED is a partnership between Shell Foundation and the UK Government which has been supporting the integration of women across the clean energy and mobility value chain.
MOWO (Moving Women) started with the belief that mobility offers women freedom and empowerment.
MOWO is a revolutionary initiative aimed at empowering women to be independent by offering them two and three-wheeler training and related livelihood opportunities. We train women in driving two and three-wheelers, liaise with organizations to create more employment opportunities for women in mobility and work on policy advocacy which will eventually lead to more women occupying our roads.VISIT MOWO.IN
